There are people who believe that the old Terryville Fair is somehow related to the Terryville Country Fair that we enjoy
each year. It is true that there was a fair in town back before I was born, and the fairgrounds was where the Hoye Street
development is now. From what I understand, it probably ended sometime in the 1920’s or ‘30’s. I imagine that it was sponsored by the Grange or a local agricultural society.
